Welcome to Impact Academies Amsterdam. We offer practical and creative IT courses for children. These Terms explain the main rules for booking and attending our courses, camps, workshops and online lessons.
1. About usThe local provider is:
The parent or legal guardian who makes the booking is our customer. The child attending is the student. The local legal entity above is responsible for the Amsterdam service unless your booking confirmation says otherwise.
2. Registration and paymentSending us a form or booking a trial lesson does not automatically reserve a paid place.
Your booking is confirmed when:
- we accept the registration;
- you receive written confirmation; and
- any required payment has been received.
Before payment, we will show the course, dates, location or online format, total price, payment plan and cancellation rules. Your confirmation will repeat this information.
We may refuse a booking if a group is full, the course is not suitable for the child’s age or level, information is missing, or there is a reasonable safety concern.
Payments must be made by the dates in the confirmation. If a payment is late, we will first send a reminder and follow Dutch rules before charging collection costs or suspending future lessons.
3. Trial lessonsWhere advertised, a trial lesson is free and subject to availability. It does not require you to buy a course and does not guarantee a place afterward.
4. Courses and missed lessonsWe may update teaching materials, software or teachers to keep the course useful and safe. We may also make reasonable timetable or group changes. We will tell you as early as possible.
If a change is significant and the alternative is not suitable, you may cancel the affected future lessons and receive a fair refund for the part not provided.
Please tell us about an absence as early as possible. Our current make-up policy is:
- ages 4–7: up to one make-up lesson per month may be offered if we were told in advance and space is available;
- ages 8–17: missed lessons are normally not repeated, but learning materials may be provided.
5. Cancelling your booking Your legal 14-day rightIf you book online, by telephone or away from our premises, you will usually have 14 days to cancel without giving a reason, unless a legal exception applies.
Email
contact@impact-academies.nl with your name and booking details. If you asked us to start or if the start date of the camp or course is during the 14-day period, we will charge for the lessons already provided. If the service was fully completed after your clear request and acknowledgement, the legal withdrawal right may end.
Some camps or leisure activities booked for a specific date may be legally excluded from the 14-day right.
Any refund due under the withdrawal rules will be paid within 14 days.
6. If we cancelWe may cancel or move a lesson because of illness, low enrolment, an unavailable location, safety concerns, government action or another serious situation outside our control.
We will try to offer a replacement or alternative. If we cannot provide the service within a reasonable time, we will refund the part not provided.
7. Safety and behaviourParents or guardians are responsible for bringing and collecting children on time. Please give us accurate emergency contacts, collection permissions and important allergy, health or support information.
Students must treat teachers, other students and equipment with respect. For serious or repeated unsafe or disruptive behaviour, we may use a behaviour plan, suspend attendance or end the booking. Except in an urgent safety situation, we will first speak with the parent and try to solve the problem.
Parents will be asked to pay for deliberate damage caused by their child, taking account of the child’s age and the circumstances.
8. Photos and videosWe only use an identifiable child’s photo, video or testimonial for public promotion with separate permission from the parent or legal guardian.
Photo permission is optional. Saying no will not affect the child’s place or treatment. Permission can be withdrawn for future use by emailing us.
9. Online lessons and external platformsFor online lessons, you are responsible for a suitable device, internet connection and quiet learning space.
We may use age-appropriate learning or video platforms. Where a child needs an external account, the parent must review the platform’s terms and complete any required consent or setup.
Students and parents may not record or share lessons or another participant’s image, voice or work without permission.
10. Learning materials and student projectsOur website, curriculum, branding and teaching materials are protected by intellectual-property law. They are for the student’s personal learning and may not be sold, republished or used commercially without permission.
Students keep the rights in original work they create. We may use it to teach and give feedback. Public or promotional use needs separate permission where the student can be identified.
11. LiabilityWe will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms removes liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
We are not responsible for losses that could not reasonably have been expected, or for technical problems limited to your own equipment or internet connection.
12. PrivacyWe handle personal data under our Privacy Policy. Marketing, optional cookies and promotional photos use separate choices and can be refused without losing the core service.
13. Complaints, law and changesPlease send complaints to
contact@impact-academies.nl. Include your name, the course and a short description. We aim to respond within 14 days.
Dutch law applies. This does not remove mandatory rights you may have as an EU or EEA consumer. Disputes can be brought before the court that has legal jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms for future bookings. For an existing booking, we will only make reasonable changes and will tell you directly if a change affects you. A website update alone does not remove existing rights.
